The corner of Mary Street, Cilfynydd

previous painting ........ next painting

A triptych I made which resembles the view from the corner of the street where I was born and raised. The image spans 180 degrees and was designed to be viewed with the front panel perpendicular to the viewer and the two panels either side to be 45 degree to the middle one.

In essence, creating a sort of stage backdrop where the viewer has to turn their heads to look at the triptych as a whole. The painting is a brooding piece with both positive elements and heavy negative tones representing the reflection of my upbringing in a post industrial mining village.
