Cathedral Rock, Sedona
48 x 60" framed in dark walnut wood effect floater frame.
Cathedral Rock, Sedona was inspired by an early dawn session, when I sent up a drone to find the vantage point that would best reveal the grandeur of the landscape. I was particularly moved by the lovely shadows cast by the rock formations across the distant desert, and by the long shadows of the trees stretching through the foreground. Working from my photographs, I sought not simply to record the scene, but to translate its light, atmosphere, and quiet sense of wonder into paint—allowing color, texture, and memory to convey the emotional experience of being there.
