This is another painting of a world war 2 Bunker on Wissant beach in the North of France.
It is Oil on Canvas 36” x 18” and is Framed. (Overall dimensions 38” x 22”). These derelict German bankers from World War II are strewn all over the northern France beaches, a symbol of man’s claim for power and dominance being overturned and subdued by the awesome power of mother nature. I’d pass so many of these old relics sinking into the sand eventually to be broken into pieces by the waves, concrete and metal reclaimed by water and wind. To express this juxtaposition a used molding paste to build the linear and harsh forms the bunker in contrast to the smooth soft flow informs of the sand in the sky.
