The natural birch wood panel is intentionally revealed throughout the composition, becoming an essential part of the landscape rather than simply a surface beneath it. The warmth and subtle grain of the wood echo the weathered chalk cliffs, bringing a quiet organic quality to the crisp geometric forms. Inspired by the dramatic coastline of Les Deux Caps in Northern France, the sweeping cliffs, expansive sea and changing light are distilled into simplified planes of colour that celebrate shape, atmosphere and place. Delicate layers of mixed media create depth while allowing the beauty of the natural wood to remain visible, inviting the material itself to become part of the story.
